Founded in 1894

Founded in 1894 as a constituent society of the General Society of Colonial Wars, the Society of Colonial Wars in the State of New Hampshire is dedicated to honoring the memory and service of colonial civil and military leaders whose courage, sacrifice, and statesmanship laid the foundations of America.

As a hereditary society, we unite descendants of those who served in the struggles that shaped early America, from the first settlements along the Piscataqua through the long frontier wars to the eve of the Revolution.

New Hampshire holds a distinguished place in that story.

From Portsmouth, Dover, Exeter, and Hampton to the defense of frontier communities during King William’s, Queen Anne’s, and King George’s Wars, New Hampshire’s colonial history was one of vigilance and valor.

It is this legacy the Society seeks to preserve.
